Suggest a book!

On some lazy weekend a few weeks ago, I started thinking about what I wanted to do differently in the next year. One of the most productive ideas out of the list was to read some really good books. This was too broad and in Google lingo, non-measurable. After some thought I've decided to define "good" as books that have changed the world. I've been talking to a few people about this idea and its taken me some time to really find a way to express what types of books I really mean. It is basically books that have influenced human behavior at a large scale. Books that after they were published brought about revolution, war, peace and a fundamental change in way we thought about things. I would like the list of books to be diverse: political, economic, scientific, spiritual, fiction etc... I have started to gather some ideas in this Amazon wish list but am looking for lots of guidance and feedback. If you can recommend a good book that fits the criteria (just comment on the blog or email me), I'll consider it a valid christmas present ;)

  2. Moll Flanders - by Daniel DeFoe. Written in 1722 it is considered by many to be the first novel. Does that fit the criteria?
